Too many law schools?

Mark Greenbaum, a Washington, D.C. attorney, has been widely quoted over the past week for an opinion column he wrote in the Los Angeles Times where he asserts there are too many law schools.

ABA OKs bar exam courses for graduation

The American Bar Association’s policy-making House of Delegates concurred Aug. 12 that law school may now require students to take and pass bar exam prep courses given by the schools prior to graduation.

Under old section rules, schools could not require successful completion of such a course for graduation.

Proponents said the new rule will assist schools in improving the bar pass rates of their students. The measure passed on an overwhelming voice vote and no one spoke in opposition, according to an ABA release.
