Michael Moffitt took over as the 20th dean of the University of Oregon School of Law in July. Moffitt is a nationally-recognized expert in mediation and dispute resolution, and has served on the faculty since 2001. He has been the associate director of the law school’s Appropriate Dispute Resolution Center. He has previously taught negotiation at Harvard Law School and Ohio State University.
Dean Lawrence Raful announced over the summer that he will step down as dean of Touro College Jacob D. Fushcberg Law Center in June, and join the faculty as a full-time professor. Raful has been dean since 2004 and was dean of Creighton Law School from 1988 to 2004.
Stetson University appointed professor Royal Gardner to serve as interim dean. Former dean Darby Dickerson moved to Texas Tech University School of Law.
Ruth Witherspoon is the new associate dean for academic affairs at the Barry University School of Law. She was among the founding faculty at Florida A&M University College of Law and most recently was on the faculty at Florida State University.
