Liberty to offer online degrees in International and American Law

The ABA granted permission for Liberty University School of Law to host three online graduate programs: the Master of Laws in International Legal Studies, Juris Master in American Legal Studies and Juris Master in International Legal Studies.

The school plans to offer the necessary classes in late fall. Students who already hold a JD can apply to the LL.M. program, while the JM degrees are open to students without JDs.

“In an increasing global economic context, American lawyers also need to know international legal doctrines and norms that influence their practice in business law and human rights law,” said LL.M. Program Director Yuri Mantilla.

As for the JM degrees, Mantilla noted how they would provide professionals with increased opportunities to gain employment in law-related areas without expending large quantities of time and money obtaining a JD.
