Beginning in September, WMU-Cooley Law School and Western Michigan University will offer 15 credits of first-year instruction to incoming law students on WMU’s Kalamazoo campus.
Students will be able to take nine credits in the fall and six credits during the winter term. After completing the fundamental courses – Torts, Contracts, Criminal Law and the Introduction to Law program – students can complete their legal education at the campus of their choice. Those include Grand Rapids, Lansing, Auburn Hills, or Tampa Bay, Florida.
Previously, WMU-Cooley Law began to offer select upper-level law classes in Kalamazoo earlier this year.
Prior agreements signed on January 19, 2016, by Presidents LeDuc and Dunn cover facilities use, courses and programs, and parking at the respective campuses. Under those agreements, the law school began to offer select upper-level law classes in Kalamazoo this past January.
