The Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund has donated $5 million to Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School to commence a Loan Repayment Assistance Program.
The program was inspired by the fact that many law school graduates turn away careers in public service law careers because they pay less than private sectors. Tisch emphasized that the public sector should not be deprived of the brightest legal minds.
Dean David Rudenstine considers this a “transformative gift,” mentioning that it will ensure that “graduates can continue to work for the public good” without financial barriers.
