Savvy law schools know they can connect with prospective students in a number of intriguing ways, including through school-created Instagram accounts. One website, called Study International, listed five that students love to follow.

Only one U.S. law school made the cut and, surprisingly, it was not the University of Iowa … (Oh, we just kid, University of Iowa …)

Actually, it was Columbia Law School in New York.

So take Yale, Harvard, NYU, Stanford, et al …

According to Columbia’s account, it has 13,000+ followers. That’s not as many as those who follow Kim Kardashian — a future lawyer herself —  but it’s not bad.

The website notes the power of Instagram this way: “With a quick hashtag and a glimpse of the storyboards, you’ll begin to see which law schools are in sync with social media and which of them choose to engage with their student following. From a law school’s storyboard, you’ll begin to build a narrative of what it would be like to study at that institution.”

The other top schools include: Melbourne Law School in Australia; the University of East Anglia in the UK; the University of Calgary Law in Canada and Bucerius Law in Germany.

One student wrote of East Anglia: “My year at UEA was about forging strong friendships & expanding my horizons. From joining a remarkable network of Chevening scholars, to being on the first UEA team to participate in #Vismoot, to discovering the fine city of Norwich, it was unforgettable. With the support of dedicated teaching and ancillary staff at the law school, I rounded out my year with distinction” #MyUEA#MyCheveningJourne.”

University of Melbourne how cool its internships are: “An internship can take you across the city or across the world – JD student Monique is spending her summer in Geneva interning with the Australian Permanent Mission to the United Nations as part of our Legal Internship subject. Keen to find out more about legal internships at MLS? Follow the link in our bio!”

We will!
