Boston College Law School is a Jesuit institution based in Newtown, just outside Boston. It typically reports some of the strongest employment and bar pass rates in the Boston region. Employment in 2018 was 90.2 percent, and its bar passage rate was 87.56 percent.
The school has a unique approach to teaching the law within a context of values and with an eye toward bettering society, said Nate Kenyon, director of marketing and communications.
“This encourages leadership and independent thinking, which may be why we have so many graduates in public office and as members of the judiciary,” Kenyon said.
Kenyon believes the law school excels at creating a challenging yet nurturing environment, with a broad-based approach and focus on the fundamentals.
“These days, firms and businesses are looking for lawyers who think outside the box, who lead by example and who possess the highest ethical standards — all things we focus on here at BC Law.”
Dean Vincent Rougeau said he wanted to let prospective students know they were “entering into a much richer and deeper experience: an experience of community, an experience of formation and an experience that they’re not going to enter into alone.”
