Chapman University School of Law, located in the picturesque Old Town Historic District of the city of Orange, about 40 minutes south of Los Angeles, has focused on providing an up close and personal education since it opened its doors in 1995.
Graduates are thoroughly trained in skills to practice law, including drafting contracts, and conducting mediation sessions. In fact, students write every semester, and the school has increased clinical offerings in recent years.
“In this supportive environment, you will also find a rigorous program delivered by an excellent faculty that includes four former United States Supreme Court Clerks, a Nobel Prize winner, and attorneys that have worked at national law firms, corporations, and government agencies,” Dean Matthew Parlow said. “Perhaps more importantly, our faculty members are exceptional teachers and nationally-recognized scholars that provide you with a practice-ready education.”
The school offers clinical opportunities in taxation, elder law, domestic violence cases, entertainment law and mediation. It has a strong externship program and certificate programs that allow specialization in entertainment, environmental, international, real estate and other areas of law.
The school offers certificates in seven areas, including business law.
