Creighton Law is based in Omaha, the largest city in Nebraska, which offers numerous opportunities for law students, given its thriving legal community. It’s home to four Fortune 500 companies, including Berkshire Hathaway, run by favorite son Warren Buffett.
It’s a haven for millennials. In 2019, Financial Advisors ranked it among the top 10 cities where millennials are moving to. Omaha ranks below the national average when it comes to home prices, cost of living and commute times.
Then there’s the law school, which dates back to 1904. It offers students three ways to complete a J.D.: a two-year accelerated program, a part-time program and a traditional three-year version. As many as 10 percent of the students take the accelerated two-year route, allowing them to begin practicing law sooner. The trick is you start earlier — in May, instead of the fall — and take classes in summer. Additionally, almost all of the students are enrolled in simulation courses, often taking more than one in a semester.
Students can afford these opportunities without breaking the bank, as Creighton Law has one of the lowest tuition rates among its peers.
“Our mission for the past century has been forming the next generation’s best, most compassionate attorneys who have a shared determination to change the world for the better,” said Dean Michael Kelly. “Through our joint-degree programs and specializations like those in government service, health law, and international law, you can do just that.  Come to Creighton and leverage your degree to realize your full potential.”
The private Jesuit school has also been honored by preLaw for being one of the Most Devout Law Schools for Catholic schools in preLaw’s ranking in 2019. It also was included in preLaw’s Employment Honor Roll, which lauded schools for having an employment rate higher than their student academic profile would predict. It enjoyed an actual rate of nearly 80 percent, five percentage points greater than the predicted outcome.
