Loyola University New Orleans College of Law is the largest school in the region and has a large alumni base in a big city and an abundance of opportunities to practice law before graduation. With graduates in the judiciary and many working for New Orleans’ largest firms, students have access to a great network.
The school, was founded in 1914, seeks to further the Jesuit tradition of academic rigor, pursuit of justice, and service to others through civil and common law programs.
Civil law is one of nine certificates students can earn. The others are: International law; Law, Technology and Entrepreneurship; Social Justice, Taxation, Immigration, Health law and Enviornmental law. Loyola is one of the top school’s in the nation for environmental law.
The school also takes pride in preparing its graduates to be practice-ready. It has mandatory upper-level skills courses and an extensive clinic program that is housed in a new facility.
While tuition in 2017-2018 was $43,410, the school discounted by an average of 32.1 percent, making it a more affordable education.
