Basic Information

For students who want to practice in Mississippi, the University of Mississippi School of Law (aka Ole Miss Law) is at the top of the list. With one of the lowest in-state tuitions in the region at $15,8825 per year, coupled with Mississippi’s favorable rules that allow out-of-state students to claim in-state status after two years, Ole Miss is one of the best values in the country. The National Jurist gave the school a B+ for 2018 Best Value Law Schools.

Academically, LSAT scores range from 150 to 157. The school also has one of the lowest enrollment average implying a low student-to-faculty ratio.

Susan Duncan, school of law dean said the schools integrity when it comes to helping students is unshaken.

"Our skills training program is the perfect accompaniment to a traditional core curriculum," she said. "Students have access to a semester-long in-house clinical experience in one of our 10 live-client clinics, with practice units ranging from litigation to mediation to appellate work. We also offer a competitive externship program that gives students the opportunity to gain experience outside the classroom. In addition to our clinical programs, students have the chance to be involved with our advocacy program, which has won 15 National Championships in the past five years!"

On top of being qualified for preLaw's Best Value, preLaw magazine gave A-'s to their trial and advocacy litigation as well as their facility. The school's alternative dispute resolution ranked with an A.
