Hofstra launches online Health Law & Policy LL.M.

Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law announced its partnership with on online education provider to host two new online graduate degree programs: a Master of Arts and Master of Laws, both in Health Law & Policy. The New York-based school is expected to launch them by this fall.

Pearson Education will provide a variety of comprehensive services, including 24/7 help desk support, LMS hosting, marketing, recruiting, faculty training, state authorization and compliance consulting, course development and design, and general student support services.

The Master of Arts in Health Law & Policy program, which will accept all graduates, consists of 30 credit hours with 11 courses and can be completed in just two years. The Master of Laws program is tailored for attorneys focusing in the health field and consists of 25 credit hours with nine courses, taking an estimated 18 months to complete.

“Through our Gitenstein Institute for Health Law and Policy, we have seen a real demand for legal training among health care professionals, and these programs help meet this critical demand,” Hofstra Law Dean Eric Lane said. “Offering the degrees online continues our tradition of being at the forefront of legal education and builds on our academic leadership in health law, while distinguishing Hofstra Law as an innovator in legal online learning.”
