Liberty University School of Law strives to provide a high quality education by integrating traditional law courses with practical skills — all from a biblical world view.

Located in Lynchburg, Va., Liberty Law is the most devout Christian law school in the nation, as ranked by preLaw magazine. The ranking looks at percentage and activity of students and faculty who belong to the faith, number of religion-focused courses, religious services and mission of the school, among other factors.

“We are committed to make a difference in the world teaching our students to fight for the oppressed, advocate for justice, and be a voice for the voiceless,” Dean Keith Faulkner said. “We equip students with the values, knowledge, and skills needed to inspire their peers, innovate the profession, and impact the world from the first day of their career.”

The school, which opened in 2004, was ranked by preLaw magazine as a Top 25 School for practical training, and second highest in the Mid-Atlantic region. It excels in this ranking by offering the second highest ratio of simulation course seats to students in the nation. It offers a nationally recognized Lawyering Skills program that is practice-oriented and provides foundational training to prepare students to become skilled and experienced lawyers. It also has one of the best programs in trial advocacy and criminal law.

Its students also graduate with a low average debt, thanks to an aggressive scholarship program. The school discounted tuition through scholarships more so than any other law school in the nation, with the average student getting a 60.2 percent discount off the $32,302 tuition in 2016-17.

Further making Liberty Law a good value, it improved its employment rate by 19.6 percent from 2011 (44 percent) to 2016 (63.6 percent). That was 10th highest in the U.S., and was based on a weighted schore. Graduates also fare well on the bar exam. In 2017, Liberty Law graduates achieved an 88 percent overall passage rate in 18 jurisdictions on the July bar exam and a 100 percent passage rate on the bar exam in 13 states. For the Class of 2015, 93.33 percent passed the bar exam within the first four tries.
