Case Western owns ex-dean’s love shack

It was a GOOD week for … renting a love shack, after it was revealed that Case Western University bought the home of former dean Lawrence Mitchell, and that it plans to rent or sell the property.

Mitchell, who resigned last March over allegations of sexual harassment, allegedly tried to engage an employee and his date in a “threesome” after a student and staff party at the home.

Law professor Raymond Ku had sued both Mitchell and the law school, alleging that Mitchell retaliated against him for bringing forth the sexual harassment allegations.

The university settled the case with Ku and Mitchell. It appears the acquisition of his home for $575,000 was part of the settlement agreement, as it took place just a week before the university announced the settlement.
