University of Oregon School of Law hires associate deans

The University of Oregon School of Law named Erica Daley the associate dean of finance and operations and Jennifer Espinola the associate dean of students as of August 2013.

“We were fortunate that the applicant pools for these positions had many strong candidates. Daley and Espinola were selected because of their specific skill sets and extensive work experience that directly informs how these roles will contribute to the success of the School of Law and its community,” Dean Michael Moffit said in a press release. “We are fortune to have two such skilled professionals join the Oregon Law administrative team.”

In her last positions, Daley served as executive director and CFO for Miller Nash LLP and as vice president and CFO of CompView Inc. She earned her M.B.A from the University of Oregon.

Espinola last served as the director of the Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement at the University of South Florida. She also served as the assistant dean of students and assistant director for the Center for Alcohol & Other Drug Education at the University of Miami. She earned her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida.

 

Cooley Law School fills three administrative positions

The Thomas M. Cooley Law School, which has five campuses throughout Michigan and Florida, has made several administrative changes. Lisa L Fadler has been appointed as assistant dean of career and professional development. She will work to recruit students, assist in employer development and plan employment counseling actives. Prior, Fadler practiced law in Michigan and Missouri. She joined the staff at Cooley Law School in 2007, serving as director of career and professional development.

Monty Moyer has been appointed the new assistant vice president of operations. He will oversee construction, building operation and maintenance. He has been part of the Cooley Law School staff for since 1992 in multiple capacities.

Ronald Sutton has been appointed assistant dean for the Tampa Bay Campus. He will oversee the operations and programs of this campus, which is the newest of the five Cooley campuses in Riverview, Fla. Sutton spent 11 years as the deputy circuit/probate court administrator and attorney referee for the 56th Judicial Circuit Court in Eaton County, Mich.

 

St. Thomas University School of Law Professor appointed to Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace

Pope Benedict XVI has appointed St. Thomas University School of Law Professor Roza Pati to the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace. The Vatican based council advocates peace and justice worldwide through the Gospel and the Church’s social teaching.

“This is a significant appointment and a recognition of the global impact Professor Pati has had through her writings and her speeches around the world on human rights issues such as human trafficking, a recognition of her status as a leader in global human rights,” said School of Law Dean Douglas Ray said in a press release.

Pati previously served in the cabinet of the Albanian parliament as Secretary of State for youth and women. She teaches at St. Thomas University while also serving as Executive Director of the Graduate Program in intercultural human right as well as the director of the human trafficking academy.
