The American Bar Association granted full accreditation to Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s Ann Arbor campus. With the full approval, all four of Thomas Cooley’s Michigan campus locations have achieved full ABA approval status. It’s other Michigan campuses are located in Lansing, Auburn Hills, and Grand Rapids. Cooley Law School remains one institution.

“We are pleased that the Council saw fit to grant both provisional approval and final approval at the same time,” said Thomas Cooley President Don LeDuc in a statement.

The ABA noted the school’s diversity in granting approval — 29 percent of the student body are minorities, as are 21 percent of faculty.

Thomas Cooley now has five locations. The newest campus opened in Tampa Bay, Fla., in May 2012 with 111 students.

In other news, the school’s Lansing campus and Davenport University signed an agreement to offer a dual degree where students can earn a joint JD/MBA. The degree will first be offered in fall 2013 at the Lansing Campuses of both institutions.

The agreement allows eligible students of one program to incorporate coursework from the other degree program. Students can begin taking courses at the other institution after their first year in either program. Students must meet the degree requirements of each respective institution before receiving either degree.
